National Safe Work Australia 2007 Winners Announced

Australian Safety and Compensation Council Chairman, Mr Bill Scales AO, and the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, the Hon Julia Gillard MP, presented the 2007 national Safe Work Australia Awards in an evening ceremony held 28 April 2008 at Parliament House.

Thirty finalists from across Australia competed for this year's awards, covering a broad range of industry and organisation types from both the public and the private sector.

The awards ceremony was held to coincide with World Day for Safety and Health at Work and places focus on the importance of workplace safety.  This year the theme is My Life, my work, my safe work - Managing risk in the work environment.  This theme is reflected in the work of the national finalists being recognised at the Safe Work Australia Awards.

WorkCover NSW won two out of the five categories including:
